Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of GreenClaims (the "Service") on any Shopify store you operate. By installing or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
GreenClaims is an embedded, read-only Shopify app that scans your product and content copy for environmental claims restricted by the EU EmpCo directive, drafts suggested rewrites, and helps you maintain an evidence-backed claims registry and audit trail. Features, pricing tiers, and limits are described on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
2. Not legal advice
GreenClaims is a compliance tool, not a law firm. Its scan results, risk ratings, and AI-drafted rewrites are informational aids to help you review your own marketing, and do not constitute legal advice or a guarantee of compliance with the EmpCo directive or any other law. You are responsible for the claims you publish and should seek qualified legal counsel where appropriate.
3. Account and access
You must have an active Shopify store and sufficient admin permissions to install and operate the app. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account and for decisions made based on the Service's output.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not reverse engineer or resell the Service.
- Do not use the Service to violate Shopify's Terms of Service, API usage guidelines, or applicable laws.
- Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, abuse rate limits, or disrupt the Service for other merchants.
5. Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Shopify Billing. Paid plans include a free trial on first upgrade as described on the pricing page. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can change or cancel your plan from within the Shopify admin at any time; cancelling returns your store to the Free plan.
6. Availability
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided without any uptime guarantee. We may perform maintenance, update features, or change or discontinue parts of the Service.
7. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GreenClaims's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms or to comply with law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
